Tube springs are often used to maintain the function of a radial seal by preventing (sea) water from leaking by providing a rate force on a seal as it wears the so-called extension springs; think about the seals on the shaft of a ship or those used in washing machines. Extension springs are used for the so-called tube springs, garter springs and endless springs. Roveron is specialised in making seaworthy garter springs, which are manufactured from Hastelloy (C4), SS 316, etc. Normally the fittings developed by Roveron are used.
